Christmas Clean-Up: The Stylishly Organized Way
December 25, 2019 Tags
Right about now, you just might be ready to find a cave and hide the rest of December. The parties, the shopping, the planning, the baking, the cooking, the decorating, the shopping, the packing, the cleaning, the hosting, the wrapping, the eating, the shopping, the gifting, the Secret Santas, the gift exchanges…….Where does it all end??!!
It’s not too late the change your gift giving strategy for 2019 holiday season.
No matter who you still need to purchase a gift for this year, you can still change direction…even if you already have some gifts for that person. Instead of struggling to find The. Perfect. Gift., choose a charity to donate to in that person’s name.
Here are your guidelines:
- Pick a charity you can trust. The Huffington Post wrote a wonderful article on just that with 5 ways to check up on charities from the IRS to the BBB.
- Select a charity that would delight the receiver. I would love someone to donate to ANY animal charity in my name because LOVE is a four-legged word. Or, to the Dallas Arboretum as it is magical, beautiful & I have a lifetime of memories there with the latest being my wedding. Surprise!
- Donate on-line
- Print whatever confirmation they give you of your donation, then frame it so it can be out all year long.
- Wrap it in a big bag or large box to throw off the lucky person.
Technically, giving donations as gifts is pretty selfish. You just relieved a lot of YOUR holiday stress and saved YOU a ton of time. However, the other less selfish side, is you just helped your block, your neighborhood, your town, your state, your world.
SO……what charity would you want someone to donate to in your name?

I started organizing from a very early age. As a teenager, I tried very hard to have a messy room but only ended up having messy piles that were neatly arranged. Later in life, my friends started asking me to help them organize their closets, homes, garages, etc. It's something I love to do! Now, I have started a Professional Organizing business to do what I love to do everyday and at the same time help people take control of their lives and spaces. My services include helping people organize
