15 Minute Challenges: Favorite Chair

If your Terrible Awful clutter secret is overtaking your favorite chair, declare war, & take it back. Declutter & make it your favorite place to sit, relax, watch TV or read a book.  You deserve it!

 

EDIT FAVORITE CHAIR CLUTTER
  • Prep by gathering cup of tea/coffee or favorite beverage and turning on your favorite music.
  • Set Timer.
  • Pick up everything(loose)chair, chair-side table(s) and floor around chair.
  • Throw out food wrappers, . . .  (Have trash can at hand)
  • Sort accumulated items grouping like with like i.e. magazines vs hand lotions.
  • Sort again grouping like with like i.e. Vogue vs Town & Country.
  • Edit each group of like items committing to reading/using each item kept.
  • Determine how many magazines or books your read at one time & keep those next to chair.
    • Give reading items a home in a basket, bin or tray
    • Give glasses or pens their home in a pretty vase or box
  • Re-home extra i.e. hand lotion, reading, pens, glasses,  etc.
    • Only keep items currently using today next to chair
  • Keep your essentials next to you chair.  Suggestions:
    • Coaster
    • Pen/Pencil
    • Bookmark
    • Reading material
  • Donate no longer needed items.
  • Put everything away at night so you start the next day fresh.  It will reduce the weight of the morning…promise.

 

HINT:  Remember, this is a chair, not command central.  It is not necessary to keep a barrage of “I might need” items next to you.  Getting up to retrieve items you need keeps you young & helps you get in your daily steps.
