Organizing for Fun in the Sun!

Warm weather is here and you want to perk up your front landscaping with spring flowers, but your tools are in the garage…..somewhere.  Your kids are also ready to grab their bikes, scooters and sports gear for some quality time in the great outdoors.  Instead of  hunting high and low for these warm weather items, take time to sort and organize them so that you can all get to the fun stuff!

  • Move cars, bikes, scooters, Razors, squiggly riding things, golf carts, strollers out of garage and away from or at the end of the driveway.
  • Evaluate the best storage spot in your garage for sports equipment, garden tools, household supplies, grill supplies, power tools, etc.  Here is a good way to layout & zone your garage.
    • Garden Tools = along wall closest to yard at garage entrance
    • Grill Supplies = next to garden tools
    • Sports Equipment = along wall furthest from yard at garage entrance
    • Household Supplies = along wall by garage door to home
    • Power Tools = next to household supplies
    • Unwanted items = donate or recycle so you will have space for cars, scooters, Razors, golf carts, strollers, squiggly riding things…
  • Combine like items in their new zones.
  • Use on-hand storage shelves/bins/buckets/hooks/peg board before purchasing new.  Peg board is a great way to keep everything visible & easy to access.
  • Label bins & buckets so everyone knows where to store items.
  • Clean garage floor with a blower to remove large debris then broom for smaller dust.
  • Return cars, bikes, scooters, Razors, squiggly riding things, golf cars, strollers back into garage.

Now the tools you need to bring your outdoor space to life are available to you, and your kids’ fun stuff is handy for the outdoors time they will have when school gets out for the summer!
