Summer Fashion Finds & Trends

SO, after reading all about the summer fashion trends, the one that stands out the most is the one that makes you look beautiful, cool and fresh.  Here are our favorite ways to do just that while in the office, out shopping, at brunch, at church or just out and about.

Polka-a-Dot

A big trend this summer is the polk-a-dot: dress, skirt, shirt, shorts, jumpsuit, handbag, shoes…anything.  My BFF’s least favorite print, but its the one I think is super fun & friendly.  This slip dress from Zara can go from office to date, from church to lunch and take you all day shopping.

TieDye

I’m not a huge tiedye wearer…not that I don’t like it on other people, but I just isn’t me.  Until, that is, I found this beautiful tiedye blouse at Zara.  Pair with white jeans, linen pants, skirt or even cut-off shorts for an elegant look.

Summer Dress

Everyone needs a summer dress.  I found out early in my working days that a dress allows a breeze around your legs…key to staying cool.  White summer dresses are the ultimate. In case you worry that theycan sometimes be a bit on the sweet side, check J Crew’s tailored white linen. It will hit the mark for every area of your life.

Summer Tops

Your closet is probably loaded with basic sleeveless summer tops.  But do you have a fun summer top?  This one from J Crew has fluttery sleeves and beautiful embroidery.  The blue on white is fresh and sophisticated.

Summer Earrings

Because bracelets and necklaces can get hot on your wrists and neck the closer itclimbs to 100 degrees, focus your attention on dressing up your ears alone with pom poms, tassels or fringe.  Choose the color that suits your personality.  Whites for the super sophisticated, pastels for the sweet and hot hues for the spicy.  And, btw, yourea woman….you can be all three if you want.  Just don’t wimp out with black.

The Espadrille

No shoe will elevate a summer outfit liketheespadrille or  Espardenyes.  The canvas or cotton fabric upper witha flexiblesole made ofesparto rope isthe sophisticatedly, feminine version of the summer sandal or flip-flop. Whether styled asflats, mules or heels, an espadrille shoewill take you to a new level of style and fun. I love this version from Soludos because it’s a comfortable flat with the sassy ankle tie and stripe print.  Withthousands of versions to try,you have no excuse to stay with your basic sandal this year.
