Post-It Notes Ensure Entertaining Sanity

Yesterday morning I took 5 minutes to review my calendar through until Christmas just to get a sense of exactly how busy I am until the big day.  Terrible mistake.  I’m so booked with work, parties, little get togethers with special friends, personal chores, shopping & more that nothing unexpected can happen.  I’ve even added in dog sitting for a close friend with a last minute need.  Let the stress begin!

However, when it comes to the big day where 25 family members will converge on my Grandparents’ home, I know I’m ready.  Since I stay at my Grandparents’ each Christmas, I am House Hostess. That means I set the table and make sure the buffet line runs smoothly.  Sounds easy? Au contraire!

Five Easy Steps to Holiday Card Completion

Now that Thanksgiving is over it’s time to get moving on all December holidays.  No matter how you celebrate, there are probably some greeting cards that need to go out and go out soon. For those of you who already have your cards out (my friend, Lesa) this blog is not for you.  But, for those who see this as an incredibly daunting task making you weak in the knees & mildly nauseous, I’m going to tell you how to break this mountain down into little, easy, climbable hills.

Halloween is over but, the decorations still hang around your home like a nightmare.  It’s so much fun to get them out & arrange them to their spookiest.  Now, they are just a ball-n-chain around your ankle.  Oh if you could just wave her magic wand & switch it all to Thanksgiving.

If you lost your wand, here is the easy way to turn your spooky house back to it’s cheery self.

1. COLLECT  Scurry through your home collecting all things Halloween to one central location.  Try 3-4 trips to find hidden little treasures you missed.

Spring Cleaning Create Organization

Most people’s image of Spring Cleaning is drudgery, Cinderella or something to avoid at all cost.  But I want to show you a simple way to “Spring Clean” that doesn’t require an army & creates a stylishly organized home.

1. Sweep Away Winter
   

    Sweep out garage, sweep off front porch & back patio.  Select a new welcome mats.

2. Tidy Storage
   

    Straighten up closets, cabinets, toy room & any other storage space in your home. You’ll be amazed by what you discover hidden & forgotten.

Holiday Hurry

With shopping, wrapping, decorating & prepping for the holidays, you just might be ready to drop before it is all done.  There’s so much to do & so much to remember to do.  It’s all about thinking ahead, making it easy & being prepared.  If you can make time to do that, you’ll be able to relax & enjoy the holiday celebrations.  Read my previous blogs to help you get it all done.

Holidays Unscathed

We are a full week into the month of December.  Chanukah is eight days away and Christmas another twenty-two.  Between now and the start of each celebration are countless trips to the mall, shopping online, wrapping, holiday gatherings – work, girlfriends, neighborhood, school, church – concerts, school programs, gift exchanges, traffic, family traditions, keeping off extra pounds, cards to write and lots and lots of baking.
